The first of many as I kick off my au soon, one pouty Jarred and one Tyreen who probably did something horrible, its been 100 years since i posted on tumblr forgive
i think purely from a design standpoint, lilith is one of my faves
also the thought of her w/ natural hair and glasses again? big heart eyes emoji x5 PLEASE become canon. it would be a fitting sign of growth since she only changed her hair to be more intimidating in the emperor’s coven and that’s no longer a factor 👀 its also cute as fuck i mean look at her she looks like an art teacher
Snake people: probably the most chillest species of post humans
Did some therapeutic art to calm myself down so I drew the snake people from “all tomorrows” ! This book is so fascinating omg. Plus I gave them a cool sweater cause they deserved one ok
*this is just my opinion, these are just movies that remind me of a certain part of the USA whenever I watch them. Just recommendations*
Northeastern Gothic/New England Gothic:
The VVitch
Set in 1600’s New England. The cinematography really shows the isolation of Puritan New England and how the paranoia and suspicion of witchcraft was such a huge deal. It’s a slow burn, so it might not intrest everyone.
Midwestern Gothic:
Children of the Corn
Set in the 1980’s in a town where all the children killed the adults and worship God in the cornfield. Calling him “He who walks behind the rows”. Originally a Stephen King story.
Southwestern Gothic:
The Lost Boys
A classic 1980’s teen vampire movie set in Santa Carla, California. A gang of vampires are trying to recruit a guy who just moved with his mother and brother. There’s also 2 brothers who work in a comic book shop and are vampire hunters.
Southern Gothic:
Interview with the Vampire
Everyone knows this homoerotic novel by Anne Rice and the movie with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. Set in 1800’s New Orleans but told in the 1990’s. The vampire Louis tells a reporter about his life as a vampire.
Pacific Northwest Gothic:
Extra:
Hereditary
Everyone and their mother has at least heard of Hereditary even if they don’t really know about horror. Set in modern day, it follows a family after the death of the Grandmother when weird supernatural occurrences start happening. It reminds me of the VVitch due to the slow burn and overall bleakness of the movie.
*as I have said, these are just my opinions. All mood boards are mine, but the pictures are not.*
EDIT: my b my ppl. Turns out Hereditary is set in Utah. So gimme a bit and I’ll make another mood board for the northwest.
EDIT PT2: okay im gonna have to work on this NorthWest aesthetic after I get over corona.
